  • Protests erupted across Pakistan after former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested during a court appearance.
  • Sen. Feinstein returned to Washington, D.C., after an extended absence that caused some Democrats to call for her resignation (see 4/11).
  • Former President Trump was found liable for sexually abusing writer E. Jean Carroll in a civil trial and was ordered to pay her $5 million in damages for her battery and defamation claims (see 11/24).
  • The Justice Department charged Rep. George Santos with 13 federal charges (see 12/19).

  • Missouri lawmakers passed 2 bills that ban gender-affirming care for minors and prohibit transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.
  • Texas Gov. Abbott promised to pardon a man that was sentenced to 25 years in prison for fatally shooting a police brutality protester.
  • Arman Soldin, a French journalist working for Agence France-Presse was killed following a rocket attack near the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine.

  • The FDA loosened restrictions on the blood donation policy to include gay and bisexual men.
  • Former President Trump appealed the verdict that found him liable for sexually assaulting and defaming E. Jean Carroll (see 11/24).
  • A federal judge found that the federal ban on allowing 18- to 20-year-olds to purchase handguns is unconstitutional.
