- At least 36 people died as a result of flooding and landslides in Brazil.
- 1 person was killed and 4 were injured due to a shooting during a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans.
- China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin responded to U.S. allegations regarding China’s relationship with Russia and stated that “the U.S. is not qualified to give orders to China,” and it “will never accept U.S. criticism” regarding China-Russia relations.
